Team Penalty Kick Soccer Shoot-Out Tournament:
Our 1st Annual Soccer Team Penalty Kick Shoot Out on June 7th, 2015 was a huge success!
Plank Road Park was filled with 250 participating in the event and another 200 in supporters! Watching the teams play, seeing the friendships, the unity, and seeing the community come together that is how we are going to find a cure for Pediatric Cancer... TOGETHER! |
**Remember all the 1st place winners received a free ticket to the Silver Knights Game opener in November and will be announced on center field as the winners of the Griffin's Guardians Shoot Out!
Testimonials:
- "This tournament is so unique, for the kids who play a position in soccer that is not a typical goal scoring position, they get the chance to shoot on goal in this tournament, it's a fantastic concept"!
- "I wanted to congratulate you on a great event. I'm sure it felt chaotic to you, but I was impressed how smooth the event went. A great turn out. No small feat getting SDA, SSA, and Soccer Central all to one event"
- "In regards to the tournament, with all the participants, volunteers, sponsors, we’re all honoring Griffin’s enthusiasm, love, and life by coming together for the cause."
- Dan Howard, coordinator of the event: asked his son Aidan how he did in the shoot out since he was busy in the main tent for the entire event. In addition to telling his Dad about how many goals he made, it was also important for him to share with his dad the rock he purchased from Grace's Sibling Sunshine. It had gold sparkles on it with the Griffin's Guardians logo that was painted by Grace. At that moment, it was clear to Dan, that this tournament was about more than just soccer, and his 9 year old son "Got It"!
