Hospital Support
Adopt a Family: At Christmastime we partner with the Pediatric Social Worker at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital and adopt 13 families. We all know how stressful the holidays can be emotionally and financially, but can you imagine having a child battling cancer and planning for the Holidays? We lesson that financial burden by having the families provide us with “wish list” and then our “elves” shop for each family. We not only purchase the gifts but wrap them too! |
Testimonial from a mom: "I can’t even think of how I could thank you guys for what you did for our family for Christmas. When I first found out my daughter had leukemia I looked forward to nothing, but getting her through treatments and getting her better. Holidays use to be my favorite and I was really struggling getting into the Spirit. When the hospital called and said Griffin's Guardians adopted us, I was so grateful, but couldn’t believe it when I saw all the gifts. I pictured the joy that would be on our kids faces and for the first time ever I felt some of that spirit....that alone was the best gift of all. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us out in the worse time of our lives.❤️ Merry Christmas" |

Surprise Food Deliveries to the hospital: Once a month we make a surprise delivery for food for the children in clinic receiving their treatment. This is always a HUGE hit as they can eat something different than the cafeteria food! |
Brighten your day baskets: Often times the children spend hours in the clinic undergoing treatment like chemotherapy. Most times the children are poked and prodded in order to receive this life-saving treatment. We love to bring in themed "Brighten Your Day" baskets just to bring smiles to these brave warriors and their parents! |

We created our first annual "Life is Better in Pajamas" program in Dec 2023. We were so excited with the amount of families that decided to take part in it! In total, we purchased OVER 80 pairs of new holiday & winter pajamas for the children and their siblings! Our Griffin's Guardians Volunteers were very busy shopping, packaging and mailing them out. Next year we plan to include the parents in the program too! |
