Statistics, Facts, & Figures regarding Childhood Cancer

  • Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday.

  • In the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined.

  • Over 99% of childhood cancer survivors have a chronic health problem because of the treatment they had as kids.

  • Every 3 minutes, somewhere in the world a family hears the devastating words that their child has been diagnosed with cancer.

All Figures are for the United States
